Digital Video Memo

Seeing as it's the 21st Century you'd have thought we'd evolved past the point of sticky notes left on a fridge door. The Digital Video Memo takes that bold leap into the future and gives you a fridge magnet that you can record a 30 second video message on. Just look into the camera, press the record button and leave whatever message you want. It's designed to be as simple as possible so it only records one message at a time to avoid confusion. Let the kids know where you've hidden their dinner on the 1.5 inch LED screen, remind the other half to take the dog for a walk or just tell your wife that you love her - all of this is possible with this nifty fridge magnet. When it runs out of juice just hook it up for a quick recharge via USB and it's good to go again.

    * A fridge magnet with built-in video camera and 1.5 inch LED screen.
    * Record up to 30 seconds of video.
    * Push one button to record and another to playback - it's that simple.
    * Only one message can be recorded at a time.
    * Built-in USB rechargeable battery.
    * Suitable for ages 12 years +.
    * Size: 6.5 x 6.5 x 2 cm.

Immortal Video Sunglasses

Even though they've got a slightly strange name, these Immortal Sunglasses are well and truly excellent in every way. That's mostly because they can record extremely high-quality videos while you're wearing them, thanks to the cheeky little pinhole camera located on the front, meaning that whatever you look at goes on tape. Aside from making you slightly paranoid about what you look at for too long, this means that any active stuff you do can be recorded and transferred to your computer for viewing.
Let's get back to that high-quality video, shall we? Inevitably, many tiny cameras suffer when you come to review the blocky footage you've recorded, but with the Immortal Sunglasses there's no such disappointment. The 3 megapixel lens produces sharp, colourful images and has a resolution of 736 x 480 (that's good, by the way). When you've shot your prize-winning POV footage, then simply use the USB connection to transfer it to your computer. With 4GB of memory on board you won't be running out of space any time soon, either.
We think the Immortals would be especially good for skiing, seeing as you need sunglasses anyway when you're belting down the slippery slide of a glacier (they just make you look that little bit cooler). Truth is, they're equally good for mountain biking, hiking, jumping out of planes (the wrap-around design is pleasantly firm), and all manner of outdoor pursuits. Indoor ones too, if you like. There's a substantial 2.5 hours of battery life off a full charge, and recharging is via USB, mains or (shock horror!) the cigarette lighter in your car.
Basically, we've seen a lot of these super-cool action cams in our time, and the Immortal Sunglasses are undoubtedly up there with the best of them.

Flip Digital Video Camera

If your normal home movies are about as badly put together as Pete Doherty’s tailoring, what you need is the world’s simplest and easiest camcorder. Trying to catch those beautiful one-off moments without the fuss and bother – and cost – of a heavy-duty model used to mean trading in quality footage for convenience. No longer, traveller.

Enter the bad boys of mobile movie making: the Flip camera range. They’re a pair of easy-peasy digital video cameras that have already taken America by storm. Their trick is to be like Herman Munster: simple, sturdy, and with a heart of gold. TheFlip Ultra II and Flip Mino cameras are both so simple to use that anyone from 5 to 105 can be a miniature director: press the large button that says ‘on’, press the button that says ‘start’ and hocus pocus – you’re the cul-de-sac’s very own Stanley Kubrick all of a sudden.

Whether you’re shooting your dog dressed up like Yoda for a Star Wars re-enactment or simply your pal Dave falling off a fence in a priceless You’ve Been Framed moment, you’ll be amazed at how well both the Flip Ultra II and Flip Mino stand up to the scrutiny of critics. The Mino comes with 2GB of memory on board, which is enough for 60 minutes of filming at a crisp 640 x 480 pixels in MPG4 format. There’s no need to worry about the palaver of focusing – it’s automatic, and with a 2x zoom available you’ll be able to dispense with your Gaffer, Best Boy and all the rest of the crew.

Pet's Eye View Camera

When you’re sitting at work, we all reckon that the dog has a better life. Until now, there’s been no way to find out if this is actually true, or just the ramblings of stress. Does your canine pal spend the day napping on your armchair, or is he firing up the Xbox and slaying space marines, drinking your beers and calling in rabbit pizzas? OK, so the last bit is probably the stress talking. But don’t you want to know for sure? The Pet’s Eye View Camera is how you find out.
The internal memory can store up to 40 snaps, so you’ll have a whole album’s worth of memories to share with your friends. Although you might want to edit out the less hygienic ones for public consumption. Best of all, the shots blow up to 6” by 4”, perfect for framing and putting on the mantelpiece. Or even turning into Christmas cards for your family, just as long as your family love the sight of an upturned bin and a dog’s tongue scooping out the last flecks of custard from the packet.

Features:
  • Auto-interval settings to take photos every 1, 5 or 15 minutes
  • Internal memory stores up to 40 photos
  • 640 x 480 resolution for 4" x 6" prints
  • PC and Mac compatible
  • Includes rechargeable Lithium-ion 100 mAh battery.

Digital Camera Mask

If man was meant to take photos underwater he would have been fitted with shutters not eyelids. That's why the techno gods created waterproof cameras. Trouble is, swimming underwater is challenging enough without having to carry a camera in one hand, or worse still, stuff one down your cossie. So three watery cheers for the Digital Camera Mask.

As you can see, this ingenious hi-tech diving mask doubles up as a high quality 5 mega pixel digital camera, so you can snap away at whatever swims your way without faffing around for a separate gizmo. How cool is that! If it wasn't bright yellow we could see 007 wearing one on his next mission.

Specifications:
  • Image Resolution - 5.0MP CMOS Sensor
  • Internal Memory - 16MB NAND Flash Memory
  • External Memory Card - Micro SD Card, maximum 2GB - not included
  • Video Mode - 18-25FPS @ VGA
  • Status Display - LCD Display
  • Interface - USB
  • Photographic Distance - 1.2m (5ft)

Spy Pen Video Camera

I spy with my little eye something I probably shouldn't, thanks to this exceedingly cool piece of spy kit. However much we try and describe it as something that's not for spy-loving man-children everywhere, it's inevitably geared towards the art of surreptitious surveillance. Hidden in this innocent-looking pen is a camera and video recorder. The video quality is pretty incredible for such a tiny camera, it records sound too through a mini built-in microphone and, despite its diminutive size, it'll record over an hour of espionage footage. Unscrew the pen to reveal a USB plug which will seamlessly disgorge your spying results and recharge the pen - a full charge will give you about 90 minutes of operation.
A Spy Pen Video Camera is only of any use if it actually looks like a pen (so many don't), and this one is indistinguishable from the real thing. It even comes with three ink refills, so it's perfectly acceptable as your normal work pen. The Spy Pen Video Camera might not make you a spy, but all the wizardry inside will make you at least consider a new hat and a pseudonym.
